Grey Gables Lake Windermere
Sitting on the shore of Lake Windermere, Grey Gables is an impressive Lakeland-stone home with incredible views and a chalet or hunting lodge vibe
The lake house sleeps up to 10 guests in five all en-suite bedrooms with the main living room’s double-fronted windows opening out onto the outdoor terrace – which has a dining area and sun loungers, a BBQ area and extra seating – and an acre of garden and the kitchen is full equipped and with a rustic green-oak dining table overlooking the lake. The cinema room has a 65-inch screen and a large games room will keep everyone entertained. A glass and stainless-steel staircase leads up the bedrooms all with floor-to-ceiling windows – two have oval baths overlooking the lake, for the ultimate relaxing soak. Outside, aside from the generous terrace for dining and relaxing and the gardens there is a jetty where you can tie up a boat or kayak, and enjoy the direct access to Lake Windermere.

Bathrooms & Bedrooms
A bespoke glass and stainless steel staircase leads to five en-suite bedrooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, four of which have uninterrupted lake views and three have balconies. Each has a ViSpring bed, two of which can be made up as twins and two bedrooms have oval baths overlooking Lake Windermere. All bathrooms have Mandarin Stone walls and giant Drench showers.
Living Spaces
The spacious, open-plan main living area features a high-specification kitchen – equipped with Quooker tap and three cookers with all appliances by Gaggenau – dining area with a bespoke 3.5m, log-edge, 12-seater Whetstone Oak table and a living area featuring a Stuv woodburner faced with local Burlington Stone. The main lounge is equipped with a wood-burning stove and the additional snug are ideal for late-night get-togethers.
The cinema room has a 65-inch screen, Cambridge Audio speakers and a stunning Mah Jong sofa from Roche Bobois and the large games room has a bespoke 8ft pool table, flat-screen TV and library.
The boot room is kitted out with multi-coloured Hunter wellies, along with a ground-floor shower and laundry facilities.
The Gardens
An acre of garden surrounds the house, with lawns, native grasses and shrubs. A jetty provides direct access to the water and is the perfect place to tie up a boat or kayak which can be hired at Bowness.
Location
Grey Gables sits directly beside Lake Windermere, with the pretty town of Bowness just a couple of minutes away by car. The nearest train station is at Windermere, approx. 5 miles away and taxis can be arranged.
